Learner Driving Licence

Documents Required

The documents that are required with the leaner application form are mentioned as below:

• Form No. – 1,2,3

• 3 copies each of passport size photo of the applicant

• Residence proof

• Age proof

• Citizenship Proof

• In the case for transport vehicle of an applicant, the driving license of the applicant

• Fee as specified in rule 32.

All the photo copies should be attested by Notary Public or Gazetted Officer.

Eligibility

• The Age eligibility is 18 years

• For the vehicles upto 50 CC engine capacity and without gear, it is 16 years (provided guardian/ parents consent obtained)

• For the commercial vehicles, it is 20 years and should have minimum qualification of class 8th.

• Conversant with traffic regulations and rules

• Residence documents.

The documents with the form are mentioned below:

• Proof of residence – any of the following (attested copy)

• Life insurance policy

• Pay slip that is issued at any office of the local body or state government or central government.

• Pay slip that is accompanied by PF receipt (in the case of any private sector employees)

Procedure to Apply

After the verification of the documents, the applicants are required to go through the learner test. The inspection of color blindness is carried out before the learner test. The test is conducted for the total duration of 10 minutes and there are 10 multiple objective questions. 6 is the minimum criteria of marks to qualify. The learning lecence is then issued to the applicants who pass the test. A question bank is also provided on the department’s website to go through before appearing for the test and learn about the matter of the test like regulations for the licence, traffic rules and road signs.

Expected Time

The learing licence is issued to those applicants who pass the examination. It gets issued on the same day after the 2-3 hours of the computerized test’s completion. If in the case that the applicant is unable to qualify the learner test, then the applicant is given a chance again after 1 week time.
